Committee and group activities are our way of building community and establishing an ethic of care within the village. We have four committees, one executive council, one leadership group, and sisterhood and brotherhood groups. We also use groups and committee spaces in intellectual ways to establish leadership and professional development. We welcome students’ participation with the executive council, the committees, and with the sisterhood and brotherhood groups.

Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee hosts parties and get-togethers with food and games to build unity and relationships on our floor. These connections will be useful for support throughout their duration at IU and as Atkins alums. This committee has two co-chairs.
Sisterhood Circle
The Sisterhood Circle brings women together to encourage them to support each other by listening to their voices on many issues and by caring about their encounters, especially the negative ones. The Sister Circle also discusses how to support the men on our floor. This group has two co-chairs.
Brotherhood Circle

Atkins Leadership Group
The Atkins Leadership Group is comprised of each member of the executive council and all of the co-chairs. They meet and discuss questions and issues, as well as ideas, that have been expressed by each of the different committees and the Brotherhood and Sisterhood groups. Together, through their deliberations, they approve budgets for village programmatic activities.
